Cereal seed processing plants are ready for the season
In order to develop seed production in Azerbaijan, grain plant seed processing enterprises operate in Aghjabadi, Tovuz, Khachmaz, Shaki and Gobustan regions under the State Seed Fund. This year, as every year, the factories were fully prepared for the season, and appropriate tasks were given for the operative and continuous operation of the factories. In seed processing plants, seeds resistant to local climate conditions and diseases will be processed, and seeds supplied from individual seed farms will be cleaned and packed. Legal and physical persons engaged in seed breeding activities can apply to plants. Services to producers of agricultural products in seed processing plants will be performed on a rotating basis.
The processing capacity of the factories is 5 tons per hour. It is possible to clean 98% of the seed material processed through the devices installed in factories, unlike other traditional devices. Planting consumption of these seeds is 20-30% less than those cleaned in other facilities. Seed processing carried out in factories allows to reduce the amount of seed used for planting, and substantially reduces the costs incurred by the farmer in the production of crops.
The main function of the 3,000-ton silos installed in the factories is to receive the seed material and transfer it continuously to the processing line, and to ensure that the seeds stored in those units can be easily loaded into cars for transportation to other areas. After the end of the season, the stock of seed supplied for the state needs is safely stored in these facilities.
In general, the processing process consists of four stages. In the first stage, the main stone remains and large chaff are cleaned, in the second stage, small chaff and oat, in the third stage, small wheat, in the fourth stage, wheat shirt and empty wheat are cleaned and calibrated. Cleaned wheats are collected in 50-kilogram bags after being treated with an anti-rust agent. The main advantage of seed processing plants is that they process seeds with little loss.
It should be noted that cereal seed processing plants play an important role in providing seed producers with high reproduction seeds during the season.
